هوسپ شیوشبکی آرغوتیان (ارمنی: Հովսեփ Շիոշբեկի Արղության – Երկայնաբազուկ؛ انگلیسی: Yovsep Arłutean زادهٔ ۲۳ مهٔ ۱۷۴۳ - درگذشته ۹ مارس ۱۸۰۱)، اهل ارمنستان بود.

زندگی‌نامه

وی در ۲۳ مهٔ ۱۷۴۳ در روستای ساناهین در شمال ارمنستان to a family that traced its descent from the Zakarean princely family به دنیا آمد. وی در ۹ مارس ۱۸۰۱ در سن ۵۷ سالگی در [[]] درگذشت.

Attended the Ejmiatzin seminary, took holy orders and was consecrated bishop in 1769 at the early age of twenty six. Served at the primate of the Armenian of Russia (1773) and of the Armenian of Crimea (1780). Played an instrumental role on founding the towns of Nor Nahijewan (by Armenians from the Crimea) and Grigoriopolis (by Armenians from Moldova and Bessarabia) Initiated and actively pursues political plans to liberate Armenia from Ottoman and Persian yoke with Russian assistance and to revive Armenian Statehood under Russian protection. He was elected Catholicos of Armenia in 1800 but died in Tiflis before assuming office
