تتا (بزرگ: Θ، کوچک: θ یا ϑ; (به یونانی: Θήτα)‏) هشتمین حرف الفبای یونانی است، و در سیستم شمارش یونانی مقدار ۹ را دارد. در یونانی کلاسیک آواt̪ʰ دارد، در اکنون با آواθ تلفظ می‌شود. حرف فیتا (Ѳ, ѳ) در خط سیریلیک همردیف تتا است.

The common usage of theta in mathematical problems began with the Greeks. They logically chose this Greek symbol since it was the next in their alphabet not yet used and was easily legible to recreate for multiple uses. Archaic forms of theta are seen in the wheel letters of Linear A, Linear B, and هیروگلیف مصری, the mathematical tensor product, یای مانعةالجمع, and direct sum operators, symbols for the Sun and the زمین (as already mentioned), and the Celtic cross.
