The Iranian Cheetah Society is an independent, non-profit non-governmental environmental organization that started its activity in August 2013 and works to preserve the last survivors of the Iranian cheetah. The headquarters of this association is in Tehran , Iran, and its field of activity is all over the country. Also, this association collaborates with other organizations active in the field of wildlife at the international level.

The Iranian Cheetah Society prepares and distributes a newsletter entitled Yuznameh to inform about the activities of the association about cheetahs and other wildlife species and environmental issues of Iran.

The goals of the Iranian Cheetah Society are:

  • Study and research about wildlife, with a focus cheetah and related ecosystems
  • Raising the level of community awareness about environment, wildlife and cheetah
  • Protection of wildlife, especially local cheetah and its habitats

  • Winner of the second place of non-governmental organizations and the National Environmental Award of Iran (2008)
  • Winner of the "Future Conservationists" award among 200 non-governmental organizations from around the world (2006)
  • Winner of the White Rooster Award of the Iranian Animal Protection Association (2008)
  • Winner of the world's best wildlife protection expert award with the title "Future for Nature" among 148 experts from 56 countries (2009)
