توصیه می‌شود پیش از ویرایش الگو با دستورهای الگو و توابع تجزیه‌کننده آشنا شوید. اگر ویرایش‌تان باعث بروز مشکلات غیرمنتظره شد، خواهشمند است آن را به‌سرعت برگردانید، زیرا ممکن است این الگو در شمار زیادی صفحه ظاهر شود.

هدف

این الگو برای تکمیل برچسب <reference /> استفاده می‌شود و برای (۱) سبک فهرست، (۲) دنباله فهرست، (۳) گروه‌بندی پنهان و (۴) جاسازی، گزینه‌ای را ارائه نمی‌دهد. این الگو برای یادداشت‌های توضیحی طراحی شده است. با این حال ممکن است برای ارجاع‌دهی نیز استفاده شود.

پارامترها

Cref2

Cref2 به صورت درون‌خطی در متن قرار می‌گیرد. سه پارامتر وجود دارند. نخستین پارامتر، الزامی و دو مورد آخر اختیاری هستند.

نخستین پارامتر target (هدف) است و باید با مورد استفاده شده در Cnote2 مطابقت داشته باشد.
پارامتر اختیاری دوم occurrence (رخداد) را مشخص می‌کند. برای نمونه، برخی از مقالات به بیش از یک cref درون‌خطی نیاز دارند که در متن مقاله قرار می‌گیرند. تعداد دفعاتی که Cref2 به ترتیب رخ می‌دهد از ۱ آغاز می‌شود. بیشترین مقدار با هدف سَبک، ۶ است.
سومین پارامتر اختیاری گروه است که مورد درون‌خطی به آن تعلق دارد. برای نمونه، گروه Cnote2 و Cref2 پارامتر گروه را برای تمایز بین هر گروه، جداگانه اعمال می‌کنند.

Cnote2

Cnote2 پنج پارامتر دارد: (۱) هدف، (۲) متن، (۳) شماره، (۴) مقدار و (۵) گروه. دو پارامتر نخست، الزامی و سه پارامتر بعدی اختیاری هستند. هر Cnote2 می‌تواند با حداکثر یک فاصله سفید (whitespace) از دیگری جدا شود. ممکن است فهرست‌های کوچکتر نیازی به این جداسازی نداشته باشند و فهرست‌های بزرگتر و پیچیده‌تر با این کار از خوانایی بهتری بهره‌مند شوند.

«هدف» که اول قرار می‌گیرد، مورد درون خطی را مشخص می‌کند که باید با Cref2 که به آن پیوند می‌یابد مطابقت داشته باشد. «متن»، محتوای یادداشت را مشخص می‌کند. اگر هر یک از این دو پارامتر مورد نیاز خالی باشند، یک پیام خطا ظاهر می‌شود.

گاهی اوقات یک مقاله ممکن است چندین رخداد درون‌خطی داشته باشد. برای نمونه، یک منبع یا یادداشت توضیحی ممکن است بیش از یک بار استفاده شود. Cnote2 با Cref2 متفاوت است. «n» تعداد دفعات تکرار Cref2 را مشخص می‌کند. برای مثال، اگر دو رخداد وجود داشته باشند، n=2 است. در برخی موارد ممکن است خواسته شود که همه پیوندهای یک رخداد درون‌خطی (شبیه به خاموش کردن "backlinkها" در Cite.php، یا القای حس یک فهرست معمولی) حذف شوند. در این موارد n=0 را تنظیم کنید.
