استان‌های تاریخی فرانسه

در فرانسه تحت رژیم کهن و قدیمی، استانها سرزمین‌های متفاوتی تا زمان برچیدن آنها توسط انقلاب فرانسه و ایجاد تقسیمات اداری شهرستان‌های فرانسه در سال ۱۷۹۰ بودند که شامل پادشاهی می‌شدند. امروزه اصطلاح استان برای اشاره کردن به مجموعه منطقه‌های جغرافیایی که از آن نشات گرفته‌اند و یک هویت فرهنگی و زبانی را حفظ کرده‌اند به کار می‌رود.
