The dispute is about: Wrong stereochemical configuration at C-6, the model does not represent neuraminic acid, i.e. 5-amino-3,5-dideoxy-D-glycero-D-galacto-non-2-ulosonic acid but 5-amino-3,5-dideoxy-D-glycero-D-gluco-non-2-ulosonic acid; (also the conformation seems to be unfavorable, as the bulkiest groups are in axial position).
