↑More literally, N.W.A's first EP, a format longer than a single but shorter than an album, which traditionally was the LP format, had been released in 1987, but was distributed locally, in the Los Angeles area.[۶] Otherwise, an EP's status as an album, while varying, is conventionally rejected but occasionally accepted, as seen in a Billboard article from 1957.[۷] Some do call the 100 Miles EP an album, as does C. F. Earl,[۸] and as does David J. Leonard.[۹] But AllMusic simply omits the 100 Miles EP from its N.W.A discography.[۱۰]Jerry Heller, N.W.A's manager, also omitting this EP, wrote: "Most people would say that there are only three full-length N.W.A albums: 1987's little-known N.W.A. and the Posse, 1988's megasmash Straight Outta Compton, and 1991's number-one chart-topper, EFil4zaggin".[۱۱]
