گالکتین-۸ (انگلیسی: Galectin-8) یک پروتئین است که در انسان توسط ژن «LGALS8» کُدگذاری می‌شود.^[۴]^[۵]^[۶]

گالکتین-۸ یکی از اعضای خانوادهٔ گالکتین‌هاست که دربسیاری از اعمال حیاتی سلول نظیر تکامل، تمایز، چسبندگی سلولی، تعاملات سلول و ماتریکس برون‌یاخته‌ای، تنظیم رشد، خزان یاخته‌ای و پیرایش آران‌ای نقش دارند.

اخیراً ثابت شده‌است که گالکتین-۸ در دفاع سلولی در برابر عفونت‌های باکتریایی و آسیب واکوئلی نقش دارد.^[۷]

گالکتین-۸ با اینتگرین آلفا ۴،^[۸] اینتگرین بتا ۱^[۸] و اینتگرین آلفا ۳،^[۸] تعامل پروتئین-پروتئین دارد.
