English: Mountain ranges of the Great Himalayan National Park, situated in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, which is recognised as the UNESCO world heritages site for its outstanding significance in biodiversity conservation. These high altitude mountains comprises some of the most difficult and beautiful trekking routes, peaks and passes, a safe haven for Himalayan Snow Leopard - one the most beautiful & shy animal. The park also plays a critical importance in the lifestyle of the people living around it, be it as the source of earning their daily livelihood or furnishing their spiritual practices. The park has forests under the traditional authority of local Gods and Goddesses called as Dev Van (God's Forest). The traditional practice/ritual of forest management by the Gods themselves, which is still in practice has an important role in saving the forest from over exploitation by the human intervention.
