Vietnam bağımsızlık hareketinin önderi ve Vietnam Demokratik Cumhuriyeti'nin ilk başkanı olan Ho Chi Minh, 1965 yılında sağlık problemleri nedeniyle aktif görevden çekilse de ölümüne kadar sembolik liderliğini devam ettirdi.
