| توضیح | Sodium silicate paste firestop caulking used in metallic pipe penetration. Two of the pipes are covered in fibreglass pipe insulation, which butts up to the firestop. This interrupts the vapour barrier (which is the exterior ASJ jacket surrounding the pre-moulded pipe covering). In the event of condensate build-up, the intumescent, which is vulnerable to moisture, is then in direct contact with condensate water, which can impair the function of the firestop caulking. When pipe covering runs through the firestop and the firestop is designed for this configuration, the vapour barrier and thermal insulation remain intact without the possibility of condensate buildup and thermal bridges. |
